Our purpose is to create an environment in Bahrain that fosters a passion for jazz music from a very young age.

The Bahrain Jazz Laureate Program is a prestigious scholarship initiative designed to nurture and empower the next generation of jazz artists in Bahrain. With a curriculum curated by JAZZ HOUSE KiDS, a globally recognized institution in jazz education, this program promises to cultivate young talent while igniting their passion for this timeless genre.

Now in its 20th year, JAZZ HOUSE KiDS transforms lives using the power and legacy of jazz through world-class education and performances that create avenues of access, learning, career development and community building. The organization and students have received more than 125 awards and honors for excellence in jazz and jazz education.

The Scholarship

Two winning Bahrain based young laureates will each receive a 2 weeks paid Jazz Camp in the month of August, at the award-winning 2024 Jazz Summer Workshop in New York, hosted by our international education partner JAZZ HOUSE KIDS.

Under the tutelage of Ted Chubb, Workshop Director JAZZ HOUSE KIDS; and Christian McBride, Artistic Director, JAZZ HOUSE KiDS (8-time Grammy Award winner)

A special jury committee will review the video content from the entries received. Shortlists from selected entries will be notified.

Terms & Conditions

– Artists need to be between the ages of 14-18 to be eligible to enter, open to all aspiring jazz musicians.
– Applicants need to be independent and not signed to any music label.
– The grant is limited to two awarded applications per festival.
– Laureates will need to submit post festival grant report.
